Surgical Instructions
Any type of surgery is a controlled injury to your body. The body's response to surgery/injury is classically described by the four tenets of acute inflammation-tumor, dolor, calor, and rubor, (swelling, pain, fever, and redness). In general, most Oral Surgery procedures require 2-6 days for recovery from acute inflammation, and dysfunction (chewing, swallowing, talking, etc).
Although Dr. Jacks and his staff will review all possible procedural instructions and provide take-home written instructions, please follow the links for Pre-op and Post-op Home Care instructions (Extractions Implants) as a ready reminder. If at any point your experience seems to push beyond the normal boundaries of recovery, do not hesitate to contact Dr. Jacks regardless of the day or time: 541-726-4690.
