Dental Implants

Dental Implants are the best option in replacing natural teeth.  Over the past 30 years, tremendous advancements in research and development have provided successful and predictable outcomes for current and future patients in need of optimal and permanent solutions for teeth replacement.  However, wherever a trail-blazing product or service exists, there is always a cautionary tale to consider.  More specifically, patients must be aware of two important issues:

1) Surgical Qualification- Like any type of surgery (minor or major), an experienced and Board Certified Specialist represents your best option.  Regarding Dental Implants, the American Dental Association (ADA) recognizes Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as one of two dental specialties with the required  training per the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).  Obtaining Board Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires and additional 6-8 years of training and experience beyond graduating from dental school.

2) Dental Implant System- To date, there are six dental implant systems that have undergone the rigors of research & development, clinical trials, and FDA approval.  Such investment ensures the pinnacle of quality and substantiates the expense for the best product. Dr. Jacks uses only the best systems available (top 3 of the 6 recognized systems).
